WIRE WRAPS
Colt’s wire wrapping techniques provide safe and cost-effective solutions for leaking gaskets on under-pressure bolted flanged connections. This can include:
- Pipe flanges
- Heat exchanger headers
- Tube sheet
- Sight gauges
- Manways
- Valve bonnets
Our wire wrap technique creates a barrier to hold a sealing compound that fills the volume of the gap above the flange bolts. The compound is injected online through stud bores to create a new seal, in turn stopping the leak.
COMPOSITE WRAPS
Composite wraps offer a solution for restoring the strength of corroded, weakened, and dented pipe, tank walls and associated structures. Colt’s repair techniques restore the damaged industrial asset’s pressure-containing capability. Colt selects an engineered product suitable to the line and equipment conditions to repair:
- Wall thinning
- Pitting
- Dents
- Gouges
The composite wrap works by sharing the hoop load carried by the pipe or tank wall. A high-compressive strength material fills the external defect to its original wall thickness, preventing leaks from the compromised structure.
VALVE PACKING
Over time, valve packing glands can leak, causing safety, environmental, and operational hazards. Industrial leak repair companies such as ours utilize a drill and tap procedure to effectively seal leaks on pressurized equipment ranging from vacuum to 5,000 psig and temperatures ranging from cryogenic to 1,850 °F, including:
